rebel, one of Australia’s leading retailers of sporting equipment and apparel, is launching its second rebel experience concept store in Queensland at rebel Garden City, on Thursday 11th November. rebel Garden City (located in Westfield Garden City in the Brisbane suburb of Upper Mount Gravatt) is the seventh Australian concept store to be rolled out nationally by the retail chain, who continue to invest heavily in the expansion of their physical stores.

rebel Garden City has increased in size by 50% to 2,100sqm and now has immersive and interactive zones such as ‘Home of Basketball’ where customers can shoot hoops, and the ‘Home of Football’ with the latest boots, balls and equipment, and where football fans can “hang out and play” the rebel football smash game.

The ‘World of Running’ allows customers to test out shoes on treadmills, with the help of rebel footwear experts, to ensure they are the right fit and style. Customers can sit, relax and enjoy playing the in-store video game as their favourite football team or NFL team with FIFA and MADDEN on hand.

rebel Garden City showcases an elevated in-store experience to inspire customers, offering the latest in global sporting looks and state-of-the-art technology, as well as incorporating interactive zones.

As well as the ‘Home of Basketball’, ‘Home of Football’ and ‘World of Running’ there is a focus on ‘her’ at rebel Garden City, with women’s apparel taking centre stage. Ranges from smaller Australian brands such as Nimble and L’urv sit alongside global favourites including Nike, Adidas and Under Armour. Even the changing rooms are designed with women in mind, with interchangeable light settings to enable customers to choose from dim to natural outdoor lighting.

With almost 160 retail stores across Australia, rebel’s customers are offered an incomparable range of major sporting and lifestyle brands. The new concept stores focus on localised and global brand partnerships to showcase the latest products, including exclusive athleisure and performance clothing and equipment that are not available elsewhere in the rebel store network.

rebel Garden City focuses on digital innovation for a premium shopping experience, inspiring customers at every available touch point throughout the store. The new layout is easy to navigate, with well thought-out sporting zones and clever placement of animated screens, captivating visuals and dynamic displays which compliment and showcase the in-store brands and products and bring the shopping experience to life.

The dedicated front of house team at rebel Garden City is made up of passionate experts from across a spectrum of sports, including training, running, football and basketball. Team members are armed with insider knowledge and expertise to advise customers on brands, as well product performance, style and fit, and provide exceptional service to help all customers achieve their fitness dreams – be they amateur or athlete.

Steve Lacey, State Retail Manager QLD/WA/NT rebel, is delighted to bring the new concept store to Garden City advising we are thrilled to open our second concept store of this kind in Queensland, and seventh nationally. We hope it inspires customers to chase their sporting dreams and passion, which is the ethos of what we do at rebel.”
